Goodness grief. Either he committed a federal crime or he didn’t. Attorney General Eric Holder isn’t quite sure if George Zimmerman will be charged with some unknown federal crime. He’s not sure how long the investigation will take.
They are holding charges over Zimmerman’s head to placate the race-baiters out there, which is the exact same reason Zimmerman was charged in the first place. Holder knows they can’t charge him, they are just keeping the case open hoping something new will allow them to do it. From The Hill.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday said the Justice Department has not decided whether to file federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman in the 2012 killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
This was a tragic series of events that lead to the self-defense shooting of Martin. There were no civil rights violations and Zimmerman did not “target” Martin because if his race. He wasn’t even sure of his race when he first saw him. Holder is going around to various groups – including Al Sharpton’s National Action Network – dangling a carrot in front of crowds and telling them what they want to hear. I’m not sure what I find more disturbing, Holder actively keeping their hopes up, or Sharpton’s network, made of of people who really think there is a case here.
